Volunteer Registration

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley uses Volunteer UP  -  an on-line volunteer management system. Click on the “Volunteer UP!” button to access the system. 

Everyone must register to volunteer. This process allows us to communicate effectively about our events, build schedules and other news items.  Once you are registered, you can access our calendar and register for all of our volunteer opportunities on-line. 

Individual Volunteers:   To register as a volunteer at one of our job sites, our ReStore or for an event, you must use our volunteer registration system, “Volunteer Up”. Get to the system using the “Volunteer UP!” button above, register as a volunteer in the system then you can register for a volunteering opportunity.  We hold Volunteer Orientation Meetings at  10:00 AM on the first and third Saturdays of each month at our ReStore facility, 800 N. State (Route 31), Elgin, approx. 1 mile south of I-90. These meetings will introduce you to Habitat for Humanity’s mission, our local Affiliate and all of the ways you can help through volunteering. Our organization runs on volunteers, so we would like to introduce you to all the ways you can help.  If you have any questions about volunteering, or just want to know more, please attend one of these meetings. To register for the orientation meeting, use the “Volunteer UP!” button above. First register as a volunteer, and then register for the orientation session you are planning to attend.

Team Members - Corporate or Church Groups:  If you are a new volunteer and part of a team, you still must register in Volunteer UP!  Complete the individual registration information, then register as a team member and then for your team's event, paying special attention to the note below.  Already registered, just use Volunteer Up! to register for your team's event.  Most of our team events have participation size limits due to the size of the homes where we work!  These limits are set for safety reasons and to insure a positive volunteer experience.  If you are registered in Volunteer Up, are have registered as a member of the team sponsoring the event, and are still having problems, contact our office at (847) 836 1432 and ask for Natalie or Bill or e-mail Natalie and ask for help.

Please note: Some volunteer opportunities are structured for specific teams.  Team names are located at the bottom of the individual volunteer registration page.   WHEN YOU ARE REGISTERING, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL THE TEAMS TO WHICH YOU BELONG  AT THE BOTTOM OF THE REGISTRATION PAGE.  YOU NEED TO BE IDENTIFIED AS PART OF A TEAM TO REGISTER FOR A TEAM SPONSORED EVENT.  IF YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR A THRIVENT BUILDS EVENT, YOU NEED TO SPECIFY THE NAME OF THE CHURCH SPONSORING THE BUILD DAY, AND AS APPROPRIATE, REGISTER AS A LUTHERAN AND AS A THRIVENT MEMBER.
